‘A taste of Bollywood’ in Ward End
As part of our Create and Change project we have been working with the residents who live in and around the Washwood Heath and Ward End area. The Create and Change project has been running throughout this year offering free workshops, family days and creative opportunities, specifically working with the women and children in these areas.
We have delivered workshops in photography, drama, dance, filmmaking and arts & crafts to help build the women’s confidence and help them develop creative, technical and leadership skills.
Most recently we have had a very successful Bollywood Taster Day at the Unity Hubb based in St. Margaret’s Church in Ward End. The Women enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon of Bollywood-style singing workshops, Bollywood Dance workshops and stain-glass window making.
Later this month we are excited to be joining residents on a ‘cultural walk’ around Birmingham City Centre, visiting the major cultural spots such as the Library, the IKON gallery and the REP.
In December we are looking forward to offering another jam-packed, full of fun, family day at the Dolphin Women’s Centre. Washwood Health and Ward End residents are invited to attend an afternoon of live performance, storytelling, arts & crafts and jewellery making.
