Parveen, an ambitious young Muslim barrister faces her own trial when she must decide whether to section her mentally ill mother against her family’s wishes.

This compelling and humorous new play by Jabine Chaudri moves rapidly from courtroom battle to domestic turmoil as Parveen juggles her professional and personal responsibilities, which become even more complicated when her legal opponent turns out to be the love of her life…

My Daughter’s Trial will be presented in the atmospheric court-like Senate Chamber at the University of Birmingham’s Aston Webb Building.

The audience will form the public gallery and the jury, immersing them in the piece as they judge not only the defendant’s but also Parveen’s actions.

Please note that the box office closes 2 hours prior to the start of the performance so please book in advance to avoid disappointment.
