June’s Sabha features Urban Jungli a Brummie based group with an international mix of artists, ‘mashing’ up and ‘clashing’ sounds of reggae, hip hop, indi-rock, bhangra-punk and desi beats to create a rich and fresh urban-world sound. Representing identities from Sicily, Katmandu, Handsworth, Jo’Berg, Punjab…and Worcester!

The collective is large and tonight you will hear from:

Ni Singh AKA Cassava feat. Mendi, Raju Mali, Danny Juan Vassalo and Lady Justice perform their mix of soul, folk and hip hop representing urban stories and tales from Guyana, Argentina and the Caribbean..blending the sounds of the tabla, drum kit and electric guitar with distinct vocals.

Then in the second half:

The Urban Jungli Set – Raju Mali, electric guitar and vocals, Shan Bansil, Keys, MC LT, The General, Kazz, Vince Gould, Natalie Parkes – vocals/MCs, Dominic Adana, Pritpal Rai – drums and congos, Si Harris — electric guitar and trumpet, Ni Singh — bass guitar
