The Chef Show

Midlands Arts Centre | Cannon Hill Park | Birmingham | B12 9QH

“A stroke of genius. While it makes serious and urgent points that speak to the divisive times in which we are currently living, the play is also very funny. Humour, food and empathy – a potent and winning combination.”
– The Yorkshire Post –

Part comic play/part live cooking demonstration/ part theatre, The Chef Show centres on father and son Abdul and Khalid on a particularly busy night in their restaurant. As they struggle to deal with all of the customers ‘out front’ and the staff in the kitchen they also have to decide on the future of the family business. Featuring guest TV chef Sudha Saha from “Entouraj” restaurant cooking live on stage the audience get to sample some of his delicious creations!

Enjoy the fast-paced, witty and exceptionally clever writing and see the two actors play multiple roles, often in one scene.

“This is a chef’s special, a deliciously funny and occasionally dramatically-daring concoction of a play.”
