CULTURE CENTRAL, the new cultural development agency for Birmingham, is seeking an inspiring and dynamic individual to lead and shape the future cultural life of Birmingham and the wider region.
Formed by 14 of the city’s cultural and heritage organisations, CULTURE CENTRAL will be an open membership body representing and working on behalf of all of Birmingham’s arts organisations and practitioners. CULTURE CENTRAL’s ambition is to raise the profile of the city’s world class culture and to build upon the considerable successes already achieved through its cultural bodies working collaboratively.
The Director will identify and pursue opportunities for further innovative collaborative projects, bringing his/her own ideas and helping to deliver existing proposals for a large-scale biennial festival of outdoor work, a joint commissioning, research and development hub, a diverse programme of learning, participation and community engagement work and shared marketing, PR and data-mining schemes.
Given the unique nature of this role, CULTURE CENTRAL is open to discussion about the terms of engagement and is happy to consider full-time, part-time and/or freelance proposals based on an annual salary/fee level in the region of £60,000.
