On to pastures new for Anita Srivastava

After 22 years in the UK, the wonderful Anita Srivastava of New Dimensions Arts is moving to Goa, India.

Anita has spent nearly 20 years building extraordinary platforms and connections in the South Asian and wider dance sector. Here at Sampad, we have had the pleasure and privilege to work with Anita for many of these years on some of the most ground-breaking projects, from Navadisha International South Asian Dance Conference 2016, to BBC Young Dancer Competition.

It is an understatement to say Anita’s achievements and accolades have reached far and wide, across the UK and internationally, which have led to invaluable developments for the South Asian dance sector. For the last 10 years Anita has worked with Sampad and DanceXchange developing the CAT Yuva Gati Programme which has provided exceptional training to hundreds of young talented dancers in Bharatanatyam and Kathak. Not to mention her work with Milapfest Dance-India International Summer School, Pulse and many more.

Whilst we are sad to learn Anita is moving, and we will miss her greatly, we know she will continue her connections within the UK.

Anita said “It is great to see the sector flourish, such a lot of wonderful work, both developmental as well as creation of new work is taking place here. I can go away feeling happy that I have contributed to the development of the sector in my little way.”

We believe Anita has contributed to the sector in an immeasurable way and have been so proud to work with her for so many years!

Good luck on your new journey and adventures to come!
