FLUX are a captivating four-piece band with a growing reputation for exhilarating live performances mixing intricate cinematic lines with shades of Folk, Indie, Western and Indian Classical music featuring violin, bansuri, piano and guitar.
Violinist Preetha Narayanan is a virtuoso in her own right trained in both Western Classical and Indian Carnatic violin. She plays lead lines and harmonies along with Shammi Pithia on bansuri. Shammi is an accomplished producer whose album COSMIC hit no.1 in the World Music Chart, garnering praise from artists such as Nitin Sawhney and Talvin Singh. Multi-instrumentalist Michael Goodey is an experienced musical director and arranger who has worked with artists such as Plan B and Kelly Le Roc. They are joined by Suroj Sureshbabu whose unique percussive guitar style drives the rhythm in FLUX live sets. Suroj is a much sought-after session guitarist, known for the versatility of his playing.
Flux recently released their debut album ShadowLines, which was featured on BBC Asian Network’s Bobby Friction show. They will be appearing at this year’s widely acclaimed Darbar Festival on 17 September.
