A stunning new double-bill.

“Full of vibrant energy…uplifting and highly enjoyable.” (Londondance.com)

“Such an incredible musicality, it was impossible not to gaze in wonder and adoration… An uplifting crescendo of music and dance” (Dance Europe)

Salaam meaning ‘peace’ is Sonia Sabri Company’s latest stunning creation. The double-bill programme cleverly weaves a dialogue between live music and Kathak dance, celebrating harmony, inner—stillness and the simple bliss of being alive.

Salaam features live Tabla music by the world-renowned maestro Sarvar Sabri who performs outstanding compositions of rhythm, with complexity and speed, through his unique fingerwork.

Sabri is accompanied by musical prodigy Suhail Yusuf Khan on sarangi and powerful vocalist Shoma Dey, who contribute endearing musical and vocal patterns that vibrate and resonate within the performance.

Kathak is an exhilarating dance that delivers an astounding display of precise footwork, eloquent gestures, rapid turns and heart-pounding rhythms.

Sonia presents sheer magic through this expressive and rhythmic dance, taking the audience on a journey of poignant metaphorical narratives though her command of intricate footwork.

Salaam was originally created in response to the unrest around the world and aims to refocus and reminisce on all that is good.

If you’ve ever wondered where beat-boxing and rapping originates from, this is a show that will reveal their roots… and more wonders!
