Chai and Chat
Wolverhampton Literature Festival
After the success of our first ever Chai and Chat in October 2018, we have more events lined up for Spring 2019!
Chai and Chat is a new series of informal discussion sessions where creative women come together and share their thoughts on writing, poetry and spoken word.
We invite you to take part in an afternoon of relaxed conversation over a cup of delicious Chai tea. Meet likeminded creative people and share your ideas.
This event is at Wolverhampton Literature Festival will be hosted by Abda Khan. Abda is a lawyer turned writer. Her first novel Stained was published last year for which she was highly commended as a finalist in the NatWest Asian Women of Achievement Award 2017 in the Arts and Culture category. To open discussions Abda will be reading from her second novel Razia.
This event will be framed by Komlaish Achall’s photographic exhibition featuring Indian Women with maps and journeys superimposed on their bodies. Komlaish Achall is an artist who explores the ambiguous, non-interpreted, triangle between being born a British Asian, being female and self.
Chai and Chat is a women’s event as part of Sakshi a new strand of Sampad South Asian Arts and Heritage projects that focus on women and girls and encourage them to get their voices heard through creative projects in the arts.
Find out more and apply to share your work by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note Chai and Chat is a initiative for people who identify as women to create a safe environment to share ideas.
