About Sampad
Sampad South Asian Arts and Heritage exists to support the development of the South Asian arts sector to be strong and resilient.
Sampad connects people and communities to South Asian and British Asian Arts and Heritage by breaking down barriers, raising critical issues and amplifying unheard voices.
Breaking Down Barriers
Sampad break down barriers because we change people’s perception of South Asian arts. We do this by increasing accessibility to South Asian art and diversifying South Asian arts and heritage audiences through our events and learning programme.
Raising Critical Issues
Sampad raise critical issues by leveraging South Asian arts to shine a light on the challenges faced by communities, aiming to enhance mental health and wellbeing. This is achieved through partnerships with local mental health and third sector organisations, as well as facilitating arts and well-being projects.
Amplifying Unheard Voices
Sampad amplifies unheard voices by creating more opportunities for South Asian people in the arts sector. We increase skills and funding for South Asian artists and cultural leaders through training, bursaries, commissions, employment and support.
Across our work, Sampad tells the stories of our communities and heritage, connecting them to contemporary society and making them relevant to today’s audiences. In doing this, we amplify unheard voices.
