It has been a busy start to 2025 here at Sampad Associate Schools. Our Arts Enrichment offer has reached more than 1500 children across 11 schools, with the City of Empire to City of Diversity exhibition reaching many more.
Sampad’s programme this term has included everything from KS2 career assemblies to interactive performances, to a series of Art, Drama and Dance workshops as part of a Bournville Village Primary School’s Celebrating Cultures Day.
Sampad Associate Schools
Our partnerships with our Associate Schools have been in full swing:
We’ve had a wonderful half term residency in one of our Sapphire schools, providing dance, art and drama workshops for 3 different year groups culminating in a sharing with the wider school community.

Our Musician assemblies, new for 2024/5, have proved very popular and will be offered again in 2025/6. Additionally, our ‘Creative Industries’ career assemblies were also so successful that they will be offered to all our schools next year .
“It was very useful to have a talk tailored to creative careers and to have real life examples for the children to consider. The content was engaging and informative.”

Theatre in Education
In March, our acclaimed Theatre in Education piece My Journey, My Birmingham was performed in 3 schools. The performance reimagines the migration stories of a range of characters, drawn from photographs taken at the Earnest Dyche Studios after the 2nd World War.

This piece builds on our flagship From City of Empire to City of Diversity exhibition, which has also been out in our Sampad Associate Schools this term. One school also chose to take this further, working with us to develop their own drama pieces based on the exhibition and performance. My Journey, My Birmingham will tour again in June. Email learning@sampad.org.uk to know more and book.
“I think [it] was an amazing experience and I really enjoyed seeing the 2 people acting out different characters”
“Magnificent. It taught me a lot about racism and heritage.”

Blossoming Balsall Heath
We always love collaborating with other organisations. This term, we are commissioned by the National Trust to work with 3 local schools for the finale of their Blossoming Balsall Heath project.
Children from Clifton, Ladypool Anderton Park Primary Schools came together for a celebration parade and Bollywood Flashmob performance in Spark Green Park. The sun was shining and it was a wonderful celebration of Spring!

We are getting ready to launch our Sampad Associate Schools offer for 2025/26, so watch this space! Email learning@sampad.org.uk now to express your interest, and be the first to hear about our early bird offer!
