How Did Sampad Associate Schools Begin?
In 2019 Sampad created From City of Empire to City of Diversity – a major exhibition at the Library of Birmingham, funded by the National Heritage Lottery Fund. A portable version of the exhibition was then created alongside comprehensive online learning resources.
In its first 2 years, 22 schools used it to enrich their curriculum. Staff involved in the project expressed a keenness to continue. In response, we developed Sampad Associate Schools, allowing them to host the exhibition, access online resources and make use of a wide range of exclusive benefits, opportunities, workshops and performances.
