Anoushka Shankar explores the timeless beauty of the ancient, classical Indian musical styles

Anoushka Shankar, daughter of the legendary Ravi, believes in the timeless beauty of the ancient, classical Indian musical styles.

Sudakshini — loosely translated as ‘A Beautiful Journey Southward’ — is her new acoustic project. With newly composed ragas interspersed with traditional South Indian music, she explores the relationship between the North and South Indian traditions, taking us on journey southwards in which the sitar crosses musical divides within its native country.

Alongside her ensemble of brilliant musicians, Anoushka extends the Indian classical parameters to create a sensitively global, timeless sound.

Anoushka Shankar — sitar
