Chai & Chat at Wolverhampton Literature Festival
Chai and Chat returns to Wolverhampton Literature Festival for a third time. This year’s theme is Celebrations.
Chai and Chat is a women led event created by Sampad South Asian Arts and Heritage, and is a series of informal, yet inspiring, discussion sessions about a range of topics. It aims to encourage women and girls to get their voices heard through creative projects in the arts.
The event will be hosted by Sampad and Amarjit Nar. Amarjit is a writer and British Art Show 9 Ambassador, whose stories capture the lives of three generations of the Indian community living in multi-cultural Britain. Amarjit has been capturing stories of Indian women and forgotten crafts. This year’s event will include stories from the BAS9 workshops and Sampad’s My City, My Home project. Attendees are encouraged to come in traditional dress and will have an opportunity to read their own work. Bring your aunties, sisters, bebés and daughters to join in the celebration.
Chai and Chat is open to women and gender minority* people.
*Trans women, AFAB, non binary, gender fluid and gender non-conforming people.
