Where is home? Where do I belong? What are my memories? What are my dreams?
You are invited to join the conversation as Dr Vayu Naidu defines what home means to her. We will also hear from new Birmingham writers Dr Sunaina Ghosh, Bhavna Chaudhary, Sana A Rashid and Malavika M as we discuss themes of home, heritage and belonging. Facilitator for the chat is Reena Tailor.
This relaxed conversation starts at 5pm. Come along and contribute or just listen as we talk about your home and your city over a cup of tea.
Dr Vayu Naidu is a storyteller, performer and writer. The author of Sita’s Ascent and Under the Banyam, she is credited with coining the term ‘performance storytelling’.
‘Vayu Naidu’s fiction is inspired by the unnoticed drama of daily events that challenge and change us. British History and Indian myth are milestones in her landscape.’
This event is presented in partnership with The University of Birmingham as part of A Place to Call Home, a new public programme of exhibitions, activities and events exploring what home means to all of us.
