The Lebara Sandwell and Birmingham Mela has become one of the largest cultural celebrations in the UK, showcasing South Asian culture and talent on an international stage. The festival promises to be a weekend extravaganza combining music, dance, sport, food, shows and a funfair. With a mix of international artists, community arts and cultural groups, the event will be a celebration of culture over nine different ‘zones’, including a massive Mela carnival.
Sampad will be joining the fun offering a range of craft activities and dance performances.
Sampad craft activities take place from 1pm- 5.30pm on both days of the Mela and you can take away what you make!
Saturday 25 July: free flag-making workshops
Sunday 26 July: free mask-making workshops
Hina Dancers will perform on both days on the main stage at 2.40pm and afterwards they will run free, informal dance workshops outside the Sampad craft marquee. (They will announce the exact times of these workshops on the day).
