Aakash performs solos choreographed by Russell Maliphant, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and Akram Khan, featuring lighting by Michael Hulls.
All use Aakash’s background in Kathak and Bharatanatyam to create a new flavour of contemporary dance. Aakash also presents a contemporary Kathak solo choreographed by himself.
The project has been commissioned by DanceXchange, Sampad, The Hat Factory, Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Dance, South East Dance, New Art Exchange, The Place, Curve and funded by Arts Council England and Akademi.
