Yuva Gati Auditions
CAT Yuva Gati is a unique training programme for South Asian dancers where students can enhance every aspect of their performance, advance skills to complement existing dance training, connect to wider performance opportunities. Funded by the Department of Education Music and Dance Scheme, CAT Yuva Gati assists 11-18 year olds with exceptional potential in Bharatanatyam and Kathak styles of dance, regardless of their personal circumstances, to benefit from world-class specialist training as part of a broad and balanced education.
Previous dance experience is not necessary as we are looking for young people with enthusiasm, potential and commitment to training as Bharatanatyam or Kathak dancers.
Kathak & Bharatanatyam auditions are taking place on 12 September 2021
Watch the short film, Enter The Stage and hear from three Yuva Gati graduates as they talk about how they connected to dance when they were young and how they feel as they continue to express themselves through their artforms.
Yuva Gati (‘Youth Movement’) was launched in January 2009 and is a partnership between Sampad South Asian Arts and Heritage and DanceXchange, as the national South Asian dance strand of the CAT (Centre for Advanced Training) programme.
