Hey everyone!
I’m thrilled to share my experience of growing up surrounded by the incredible world my dad, Subhash Viman Gorania, has created through his art. You see, my dad isn’t just an artist; he’s a storyteller, a dancer, and a superhero enthusiast all rolled into one.
One of the coolest things about being his son is getting a front-row seat to the magic he brings to life. From the vibrant colours he uses to the larger-than-life figures he creates, every new idea feels like an adventure.
February 13this a day I’ve been eagerly waiting for – there’s a whole load of activities happening around Marvel at My World, and it’s going to be awesome! The best part? It’s happening at The Library of Birmingham and everyone’s invited!
Dad’s art is like a mixtape of his life. He’s been inspired by so many heroes, from dance gurus to the powerful characters in Hindu mythology and those legendary superheroes in comics. It’s like he’s taken the bits we love as a family to create something totally mind-blowing.
The exhibition has it all – from these super cool 3D gods that look like they could jump out of the box to Hindu Gods reimagined as superheroes. And guess what? There are prints inspired by the legendary Andy Warhol, but with their own unique dance moves. Can you imagine that? It’s as if Dad’s art is dancing off the walls!
You might think, “Why superheroes and dance together?” Well, that’s what’s so cool about it. Dad’s not just an artist; he’s also a choreographer and professional dancer. He’s mixed his South Asian heritage with his love for contemporary dance in a way that’s totally his own.
The best part about Dad’s exhibition launch is that it’s not just for grown-ups. It’s going to be packed with fun stuff like comic-book crafts and you may even get the chance to meet the greatest hero of all…my dad! It’s like stepping right into a comic book and becoming a superhero for a day!
So, mark your calendars for February 13th and join us from 11pm until 3.30pm for a day filled with creativity, adventure, and lots of superhero-inspired fun. Don’t miss the chance to experience Dad’s Marvel at My World exhibition at The Library of Birmingham. See you there!
From,
Subhash’s son and fellow superhero enthusiast
