Ustad Rashid Khan (July 1968 – January 2024) was a luminary in Hindustani classical music. His journey began in Sahaswan, under Ustad Nissar Hussain Khan’s tutelage. Renowned for emotional depth and melodic elaboration, Rashid Khan’s style blended Gwalior and Rampur-Sahaswan gayaki. Awarded the Padma Shri, his contributions transcended borders, captivating global audiences. Despite battling prostate cancer, his passion for music remained undiminished until his passing. Srimati Koyel Bhattacharya, an Indian Classical Vocalist in the Hindustani tradition, is celebrated for her profound khayal performances. Trained under the tutelage of her Guru, Ustad Rashid Khan in the Rampur Sahaswan Gharana, Koyel’s exceptional expertise in Sargam, Taankari, and Tarana sets her apart as a leading female vocalist of her generation. With numerous accolades and prestigious performances to her credit, Koyel’s unique tonal quality and singing style have garnered widespread acclaim both nationally and internationally.
Born into a musical family, Sri Kuntal Das embarked on his musical journey at a young age under the guidance of eminent mentors. Under the discipleship of Pt. Subhankar Banerjee of the Farukhabad Gharana, Kuntal Das has undergone rigorous training and has had the privilege of performing alongside renowned artists across the globe. His mastery of the tabla and dedication to his art form have earned him recognition as a prominent accompanist in both classical and commercial settings.
