This July, Sampad are delighted to welcome one of India’s most revered and celebrated maestros, Padma Bhushan Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty.
Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty will be visiting Birmingham as part of his highly anticipated UK tour, performing at Birmingham Rep on Friday 25th July 2025.
This concert of Indian classical musical will present a rich programme of intricate Ragas, popular Thumris, Carnatic Tillana and Devotional songs, promising to entrance audiences old and new. His music touches the soul, offering moments of transcendence and serenity, while showcasing the incredible depth of India’s classical heritage.
Not only will audiences experience Padma Bhushan Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty live in concert, but they will also be treated to a special curtain raiser performance. Sur-Nandan Ensemble are a talented collective, led by Hindustani Classical Vocalist and teacher Smt Sanchita Pal. Founded in Birmingham almost 30 years ago, the ensemble welcomes students of all ages. They will perform an array of Indian compositions, spanning from meditative Shlokas, Indian Raagas, Tarana & Bhajan.
