Having started in 2016, Sampad’s Lori Lullabies workshops explore music and storytelling within Early Years settings, using traditional South Asian lullabies.
School Subject Areas: Storytelling, music and movement
Ages: Early Years
In these interactive workshops for children and parents, South Asian lullabies in Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, Urdu and Gujarati provide the setting for storytelling and music exploration.
These lively, family-friendly sessions bring traditional ‘Lori’ (Indian lullabies) to life through music and movement, intertwining Eastern and Western traditions in a relaxed and fun environment.
Delivered by experienced dance artist Magdalen Gorringe, the workshops are suitable for babies, toddlers and children up to 10 years old to take part in, either by themselves or together with their parents or guardians.
The workshop lasts approximately 45 mins – 1 hour, and are ideal for Early Years settings, parents and Early Years workers.
If you are interested in booking one of our education workshops or would like to discuss an outreach project, please email Sabra Khan, Executive Director on sabra@sampad.org.uk.
