Chai and Chat: My Marathon Sari
Hear from Poppy Jaman, OBE on her memories running 26 miles in a sari, the inspiration she draws from saris, and stories she helped to create with diverse communities in the UK.
Poppy is a well-known leader in field of mental health awareness and care. For over 25 years she has worked Internationally, engaging with communities and workplaces to devise mental health help projects.

Chai and Chat with Poppy Jaman will be hosted by Sonali Dutta.
Sonali Dutta is a Speech and Language Therapist based in the UK, working full-time with both adults and children who experience communication challenges. Sonali is an advocate for neurodiversity, as well as for ethnic, cultural, and gender-diverse communities.
Sonali also writes poetry, articles, blogs and has a passion for dancing Indian classical Kathak, Bengali traditions, and Indian folk forms. Her writing spans across social, environmental, philosophical, and spiritual themes.

Sari creative and colour walker, Nidhi Uppal will be with us to drape saris after the Chai & Chat.

Saris will be provided by Nidhi and Sampad, or you can bring your own from home to be draped for you. Sari draping will be on a first come, first served basis.
Chai and Chat is a discussion series created by Sampad. It aims to empower women and girls by providing an inspiring and informal platform for their voices to be heard.
