Midsummer Masti: 6 Weddings 9 Songs and 50 Saris
Sampad and Midlands Arts Centre cordially invite you to Midsummer Masti for an evening of dance, live music and festivity!
Feel the love at this joyful evening, where a colourful mix of saris and dances collide – from Gujarati to Marathi, Sylheti to Punjabi and more. This immersive performance will showcase varied wedding traditions and dances. Of course, no wedding is complete without a party, and our DJ will be on hand to get everyone involved in our grand finale. Celebrating the rich diversity in language, music, dance, saris and lehenga.

On the house (free!) from Dishoom:
– Homemade popcorn
– Fresh Nimbu Soda – Light lemon drink to quench the thirst. Made with fresh juice, salt, sugar and soda (Ve, V).
– House Chai – All things nice: warming comfort and satisfying spice. Made the traditional way, or with oat milk. All who have tried it, swear by it (V)
Hot food from Midlands Arts Centre:
– Cauliflower, Chickpea and Spinach Curry £8.95 – Creamy and fragrant curry made with coconut milk. Served with pilau rice and garnished with coriander (Vg).
Midsummer Masti is co-created with South Asian community groups across Birmingham, celebrating the cultures found across our city. Arrive early to get involved in free family-friendly garland-making workshops, from 5.30pm.
