Neon Horizon
Hassan ‘Moyo’ Mohyeddin is a music producer, tabla player, multi-percussionist, teacher and fine artist.
His debut performance, Neon Horizon, explores cultural identity
through live electro-acoustic music.
British-Pakistani Moyo is trained in both Eastern and Western music. Neon Horizon draws on his talent and experience to explore a new sound language, through the use of traditional South Asian instruments including tabla, dholak and sarod, as well as guitars, synthesisers and world instruments.
Neon Horizon explores themes relating to nature versus technology
and human fallibility versus the precision of machines.
The performance also features visual projections, including animation, creating an enticing narrative.
Featuring special guests Arnab Chakrabarty on Sarod and Oliver Weeks on Guitar
Followed by Q&A. Moyo will be talking with Scott Wilson, Director of BEAST (Birmingham ElectroAcoustic Sound Theatre) which is based at the University of Birmingham.
