Asian Spring is Sampad’s annual celebration of South Asian dance, bringing together performers from across the Midlands. From Bhangra to Bollywood, Kathak and Bharatanātyam, we have a rich and diverse line up waiting for you.

Kaishiki Performance Group
Named after the description of beautiful and soft movement found in the Natya Shastra. This group consists of senior Bharatanatyam students and graduates from Chitraleka Dance Academy.
Dance Bhangra
Dance Bhangra was founded over 7 years ago by Ridaa Husain, who has 17 years of dance experience teaching globally in cities like Barcelona, Paris, Lahore, and Dubai. They are an award winning and family oriented community academy, inspiring the next generation of dancers.
Ankura Dance
Founded by Lakshmi Srinivasan, Ankura Dance offers rigorous Bharatanatyam training of the highest standard. Derived from the Sanskrit word meaning “to sprout,” Ankura embodies the school’s mission to nurture aspiring dancers, guiding them to blossom into skilled practitioners committed to preserving and advancing the art form.
Devyani’s Laayhara
Led by Debjani Deshpande, Devyani’s Laayhara explore Kathak dance in Lucknow Gharana style with graceful and dynamic movements, alongside creative semi-classical dance. They have been performing across the UK for the past 13 years.
Sonia Sabri’s Kathakaars
Sonia Sabri‘s Kathakaars will be joining us with a medium tempo Ghoomar, a traditional and delicate Rajasthani folk dance.
Bollywood Dreams Dance
Lights Camera Action! Bollywood Dreams is the largest Bollywood Dance organisation in the West Midlands. They provide outstanding dance training, professional performances and educational workshops, having taught and performed across the UK and beyond.
Morris Natyam
Led by Priya Sundar, this unique performance is an innovative fusion, showing the similarities in English Morris dancing and Indian dance. Priya Sundar is a Bharatanatyam guru who have been teaching in the UK for the past 20 years and Morris-Natyam is her brain child which has toured in the UK.
Anjali Dance
Anjali Dance is more than just a dance class. This is a creative and supportive dance community for women. What began as a fun and open space to dance has grown into a vibrant environment where lasting friendships and new connections are formed, performing classical and Bollywood-style dances at numerous events across the region and beyond.
Nilakshi Bells and Beats
A varied group working with Kathak, contemporary, folk and Bollywood dance.
Nrityamanjiri Dance Group
Nrityamanjiri are a group united by their passion for this dance, alongside the friendship and respect that runs throughout. They have explored and performed many dance forms, from traditional Kathak, Bharatnatyam, Mohiniattam, and Thiruvathira to Garba and even Bollywood.
Atreyee Dance
A dance troupe dedicated to promoting Indian Classical and Creative Indian dances in the UK. They also run classes for Kathak and Creative Indian dances for all students of all abilities and ages.
Chitraleka Dance Company
A Birmingham based institution of Bharatanatyam dance, offering authentic training in a family-friendly environment. Founded in 1990 by Chitraleka Bolar.
India Island Academy
India Island Academy promotes Indian Arts and Culture, runs classes for Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Bollywood, vocals, arts & crafts and many more.
Ultimate Bhangra
Ultimate Bhangra performances are a vibrant, high energy celebration of Punjabi culture, seamlessly blending traditional and modern Bhangra dance styles. Each piece is crafted to captivate audiences of all ages and showcase the energy, grace, and rhythm that define Bhangra.
