We’re thrilled to announce that we have been working with the West Midlands Combined Authority, Consulate General of India, Birmingham and Mayor of the West Midlands, Andy Street to bring you DIWALI ON THE SCREEN – a virtual celebration of incredible performances, showcasing some of the region’s top talent.
We are proud to have created the cultural programme for this exciting digital concert, which is available to stream for free online this Saturday 7 November, 11-12pm. Register for free tickets here.
Packed with traditional singing, folk dance and performances from new and up and coming stars, this spectacular event features a host of top artists from across the West Midlands.
The line-up includes:
- Aishani Ghosh and Anaya Bolar of Chitralekha Dance Company perform Bharatanatyam Tillana – the dazzling finale in a recital of Bharatanatyam, a Classical dance form that originates from the temples of southern India
- Rekesh Chauhan, award-winning British Indian pianist and composer, and Nandini Shankar, acclaimed Indian violinist and Hindustani classical music performer, team up for a piano and violin performance
- The largest Bollywood Dance organisation in the West Midlands, Bollywood Dreams Dance teach an unmissable, interactive dance workshop
- Xeni from Solihull
Andy Street, Mayor of the West Midlands, will open the event together with Dr Shashank Vikram, Consul General of India, Birmingham and Gaitri Issar Kumar, High Commissioner of India to the UK.
