Casting Call – Can We Talk?

About the Production:

Can We Talk? is a powerful new 35-minute, three-person play exploring the growing relationship between young people, artificial intelligence and mental health. Set within a British South Asian family, the play follows a teenager who increasingly turns to AI for everyday advice and emotional support, rather than the people around them. As that relationship becomes more personal, the play explores questions around connection, communication, trust and what increasing reliance on AI could mean for human relationships.

Written by Rochi Rampal and developed through consultation with young people, parents, headteachers and mental health professionals, Can We Talk? draws on contemporary conversations around AI, wellbeing and digital relationships.

Directed by Bhavik Parmar, the production is designed not only as a piece of theatre but as a starting point for audiences to reflect, discuss and debate these issues openly.
