After the tremendous success of our inaugural bursary programme last year, we are thrilled to unveil the Sampad Artist Bursary Programme for 2024. In our second year, we are proud to offer three distinct bursaries aimed at fostering creativity and innovation within South Asian arts:

  • Sampad Start Bursary (Emerging Artist): £500
  • Mid-Career Artist Bursary: £1,000
  • Digital Artist Bursary: £1,500

These bursaries are designed to support artists at different stages of their careers, encouraging experimentation, skill development, and the use of digital technology in the arts.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Emerging Artist Bursary: Open to artists of South Asian heritage who self-identify as ‘emerging’ and meet our specified criteria.
  • Mid-Career and Digital Artist Bursaries: Open to artists of South Asian heritage with at least three years of professional experience.
  • Applicants must be based in the Midlands, England.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK and be aged 18 or older.
  • Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to developing their creative practice. For the Digital Artist Bursary, a focus on creative digital technology in producing and presenting artistic work is essential. Note: This does not include projects like screen dance or sharing via digital platforms (e.g., live streaming or podcasts).
