This Summer, Sampad is bringing the entertainment to Edgbaston Cricket Ground – South Asian style. We will be delighting sports fans with Bhangra, dhol drumming, live bands and a dance showcase, to party with crowds at selected matches.
To kick off, for the T20 Cricket match on the 29th May, Pantasy Steel Pans and Dhol drummers led by Harjinder Matharu will be performing for sports fans during the match interval, bringing music and fun to the grounds. Audiences will be able to sing and dance to some cool Caribbean and South Asian vibes, hopefully in the sunshine!
On 2nd July, for the India v England Test Match, Lions of Punjab will be welcoming guests with Bhangra dancing and dhol drumming, ensuring everyone is suitably hyped up for what will be an amazing day of sport. For the afternoon tea break, Hemant Patel and his band will be performing in the exhibition hall, keeping spirits lifted whatever the score.
On the 9th July – it’s the England v India IT20, and the perfect opportunity for a South Asian Dance spectacular. We will be bringing King G Mall Dhol Blasters, Bollywood Dreams Dance Company & India Island Academy to showcase their talents before the match, with a surprise special guest during the tea break. It’s going to be a match to remember!
We are delighted to be bringing these talented performers to Edgbaston Cricket Ground, creating a sports and arts fusion like no other. Like the arts, sport is a celebration of human talent and bringing people together, which is why we are delighted to be working with Edgbaston Cricket Ground this Summer.
